A Day in the Life #June2Day

So, let me give you a glimpse into my day as a business coach and fractional COO. I absolutely love what I do, especially helping my clients get unstuck and finding solutions they might have missed on their own. It's incredible how an outside perspective can make a huge difference in both life and business!

I start my day by feeding and taking my two beautiful Australian Shepherds, Nora and Zoey, for a walk. These wise and older dogs really ground me. They know how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, like watching ducks on the lake, exploring the woods, and sniffing all the smells in the grass. I try to follow their lead and clear my mind, so I can rely on my intuition throughout the day.

Now, I must say that it's a total luxury compared to my past days when I was running a business and raising four children simultaneously. Back then, these walks and the morning rush were just items to check off my never-ending to-do list. But now that my children are all grown up, I can finally take the time to enjoy the things I had put on the backburner during those hectic years.

Today, the weather in Central Florida is warm and humid, so I'm relieved to head into my office for some air conditioning. It's just a short walk from my kitchen, coffee in hand, and I'm ready to dive into work. As a virtual worker, I rely on tools like Click-Up, Slack, and Zoom to stay connected and accountable to my team. These tools keep things moving smoothly throughout the day.

Let's break down my day a bit. From 8 to 9:30 AM, I have my Financial Friday Block, where I take care of bookkeeping and accounting tasks accumulated during the week. It's crucial to stay organized and on top of things financially, so I can effectively manage my business.

Next up, I have a creative meeting with my animation artist, Godwin, via Zoom. He's all the way in Malta, but technology allows us to collaborate seamlessly. We discuss the script and voiceover for our next explainer video, combining our expertise to create engaging content for our clients.

Then, it's time for an Overhead Meeting with Mya, my Online Business Manager, who joins me via Zoom from Virginia. We go through the tasks we've completed this week and plan ahead for the next one. This way, Mondays become less about planning and more about diving straight into work. It's all about optimizing our time and efforts.

On Fridays, I have open office hours for all my coaching clients via Zoom. It's a time when they can jump on if they need extra help or just want to bounce ideas off me. Today was no different. One of my business owners reached out for assistance in finalizing their mission statement. We worked together, tweaking and refining it until it perfectly captured their company's essence. It's amazing how a well-crafted mission statement can bring clarity and direction to a business.

And then, there was another owner who was developing a new service and wanted to brainstorm some creative ways to market it. We dove deep into a collaborative session, exploring different strategies and ideas. It's in these moments that I truly cherish my role as a business coach. The collaborative energy between us sparks innovative solutions, and together, we find the answers that propel their businesses forward.

These open office hours allow for a dynamic exchange of ideas and support. It's a space where my clients can tap into my expertise, but more importantly, it's an opportunity for us to work together, leveraging their unique insights and my experience. It's these moments of collaboration that truly make my day fulfilling.

After a well-deserved lunch break, which I spend with Nora and Zoey, enjoying some sunshine and getting my dose of Vitamin D, it's time for a support session with an executive assistant from one of our clients. We hop on Zoom again, this time with the assistant all the way from the Philippines. We help her become more efficient in using Click-Up and Copilot (the client portal), ensuring a better experience for their clients. It's a win-win situation for everyone involved!

In the afternoon, Mya and I dedicate some time to a Working Block on our calendar. We jump on another Zoom call and work collaboratively on various tasks. For example, we create our company's monthly newsletter, which offers added value to our clients and prospects. We also design a spreadsheet template using the Profit First model, helping our bookkeeping clients manage their cash flow more effectively. Additionally, we delve into certification training on a new operational system tailored for service-based small businesses. It's all about expanding our skill set to provide even better support to our clients.

So, as you can see, our days revolve around sharing our expertise and continuously improving our skills for the benefit of our clients. By offering valuable insights, leveraging our experience, and providing ongoing support, we help them overcome challenges and achieve their business goals with confidence.

That's a day in the life of a business coach and fractional COO, where every moment is focused on bettering our skills and sharing them with clients.
